Van Leer Legacy Award

The Van Leer Legacy Award is designed to recognize individuals whose leadership and dedication inspire people to reach their God-given potential.

In December 2016, Mercy Davidson, of the Town of Normal, was the winner of this award for her work in the partnership between the Town and Broadview Mansion in establishing the Mansion on the National Register of Historic Places. This partnership ensures that the property will remain intact for current and future generations to enjoy. Mercy has demonstrated a deep, personal interest in the preservation of Broadview Mansion.

In January 2015, she created the historic landmark application for the Historic Preservation Committee.

In August 2015, the Normal Town Council unanimously approved an ordinance designating Broadview Mansion as a Historic Landmark.
